Back Pain
What Causes Back Pain?
Most of the world’s population will experience back pain at least once in their lifetime. This may be due to an injury, overuse, or other reasons like cancer, scoliosis, and infections. Not every case is the same and there are many possible causes. A thorough evaluation from a qualified health care provider, such as a chiropractor, is necessary. Identifying the cause and the appropriate treatment for the resolution of the problem is a must.
Can Chiropractic Help
The discmofort could decrease with time depending on the cause. However, the time to recovery could be expedited when treated appropriately. Back pain can vary from acute to chronic depending on the amount of time it is present, and it can also vary in severity from mild to severe.
Depending on the cause of the symptoms, disabilities may vary from none or slight discomfort to excruciating pain with movement and being incapacitated. This tends to first influence your everyday life and then the people around you. The persistence of pain can lead to depression and high levels of stress.
According to Meade (1990), “Chiropractic treatment was more effective than hospital outpatient management, mainly for patients with chronic or severe back pain.”. Also, a 2002 UCLA study showed that the patients that received chiropractic treatment for their back pain were more satisfied than they were seeing a medical provider (Hertzman-Miller, 2002).
Finding the root cause of your back pain and addressing it with non-invasive, gentle treatment, is our way of doing things.

Low Back Pain
There is no doubt that low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading causes of disabilities in the world! According to Lee (2001), the mean time off due to LBP in a period of 5 years, is 17 days. If that were time spent doing something enjoyable, we would say “It’s time well spent”. However, the reality is that when LBP is severe enough for one to take time off work, the chances are that they experience difficulties with movements, sleeping, and feel the emotional pressure that pain adds to life.
What Causes Low Back Pain?
There are many things that can cause low back discomfort, ranging from a simple muscle spasm to kidney stones and cauda equina syndrome. These can greatly vary in symptoms. Some may just have some discomfort or an urge to “crack” their back, and others may not be able to walk due to radiating pain, numbness and tingling down their legs, even loss of bladder control. How to Treat LBP?
To find the root cause of the LBP, a thorough examination by a qualified health care provider, such as a chiropractor, is necessary. The appropriate diagnosis and treatment of LBP are necessary not only to eliminate the symptoms but also to help prevent it from reoccurring in the future.
